For young adults
Psychological Counselling for Young Adults
School is over, university or vocational training is under way, perhaps your first job is just beginning. Many doors are open, and that in itself can feel overwhelming. At Kaiserufer in Hamburg Rotherbaum you will find a calm place to sort out who you are and where you want to go.
Does this sound familiar?
When everything is changing right now
New city, new people, new expectations. Many young adults experience this time as exciting and exhausting at once.
- You want to find your bearings and do not yet know where you are heading
- You wonder who you are and what you really want
- You compare yourself with others a lot
- Exams at school, university or in training frighten you
- Some tasks in your new everyday life overwhelm you
- You would like to work on your self-esteem
In counselling we sort out together what moves you and, step by step, find your own direction. What counts is not your age but the phase of life you are in. Whether you are in your early twenties or simply still feel you are on your way: you are welcome.
Counselling for young adults in Hamburg
Is Kaiserufer right for me?
You do not have to be “bad enough” to get support. Many young adults wonder whether their concern is even enough: feeling lost after school, being overwhelmed at university or in training, exam anxiety, constantly comparing yourself with others or the question of who you actually are. That is exactly what we are here for.
You need no diagnosis and no referral, and nobody has to know. In counselling we sort out together what is on your mind and, step by step, find your own direction. You are supported by trained psychologists who know this phase of life well.
There is no fixed age limit. Whether you are in your early twenties or simply still feel you are on your way: you are welcome. In cases of acute suicidality or self-harm, a clinic is the safe place, and that is where we will refer you.
How it works
You do not need to know in advance what suits you. We find that out together.
You book a free introductory session.
Online, by phone or by email, whatever you are interested in. You do not have to decide on anything yet.
We listen.
Around 45 minutes for your concern, calmly and without pressure. You share as much as you like.
We check honestly whether we can help you.
If another path suits you better, we will tell you openly.
You receive a recommendation.
We suggest which member of our team and which method we consider sensible and discuss with you how things could continue. The recommendation is non-binding, you decide.
You start at your own pace.
Single sessions or the Flossenpass, you decide how to continue. If something does not fit, we change therapist or method. That is no problem with us.
What does it cost? The introductory session is free. After that you book single sessions or the Flossenpass. For young people up to and including 21 there is the Kükenpass with six sessions for €350.
Frequently asked questions
Is counselling for young adults only for students?
No. It is for anyone at a transition: after school, at university or in training, starting a career or in the middle of the question of where to go next. There is no fixed age limit.
How much does counselling cost?
The introductory session is free. A single session of around 60 minutes costs €100. For young people up to and including 21 there is the Kükenpass with six sessions for €350. You will find all prices on our prices page.
Does counselling also help with exam anxiety?
Exam anxiety is a topic young adults often bring to us. Together we look at what triggers the anxiety and develop ways for you to go into exams prepared and calmer.
Do I need a diagnosis or a referral?
No. You need neither a diagnosis nor a referral. Simply arrange a free introductory session, and we will look together at what is on your mind.
Does health insurance cover the costs?
Psychotherapy under the German Heilpraktiker Act is a private-pay service, as are our counselling, assessments and all classes. Statutory health insurers generally do not cover these costs. Private and supplementary insurers, however, often reimburse part of them depending on your plan; the keyword there is "Heilpraktiker für Psychotherapie". You always receive an invoice you can submit. Feel free to ask us, we are happy to help you clarify.
